PHOTOGRAPHY, OCT & OCT-A

There are many different imaging procedures that can be done in ophthalmology. Some imaging look at the front of your eyes (cornea, lids, etc.) and others look at the back of the your eye (retina, optic nerve). As technology progressed, some of the imaging for the back of the eye do not require drops to dilate the eyes. For example, optical coherence tomography (OCT) does not require for the eyes to be dilated to capture scans of the retina or the optic nerve. These tests are essential for diagnosing and documenting the progression or regression of certain conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration to name a few.

WHAT TO PREPARE FOR YOUR VISIT

  • Bring sunglasses (in case you get dilating drops, you will be light-sensitive when leaving)
  • If needed, arrange for ride due to light-sensitivity and blurred vision at near
